Friday, October 21, 2005 - Decentralization For 2006 We are pushing for decentralization
in 2006. One reason that we are doing this, other than reducing liability,
is to put the tools in the hands of models and teach them what they need to
do, rather than hold their hands through their careers. We are not an agency
and we do not manage models. Models are perfectly capable of managing themselves.
We are not here to cast judgment on anyone or to be the authority on who is
more professional. We'd rather put the information out there and let models
decide for themselves. We are, as of now, getting away from centralized areas
that have to be maintained such as databases (although we WILL continue
to keep tabs on everyone for our information only). Two areas where immediate
changes support this new trend would be DROPPING THE REFERENCES
from TALON (which delayed the launch) and RETIRING FROM FIGHTING
MODEL SCAMS. Regarding fighting model scams, we often state the obvious
and put ourselves in liability over those statements- in most cases, fighting
model scams did not put them out of business, only strengthened their resolve,
forced them to get creative with their unethical activities, and merely served
to get them pissed off at us. In some instances, we did not have all of the
facts and made the wrong call, and that is simply both ineffective and inexcusable.
This means that the war is over and that the fight for professional accountability
in this complex industry has just shifted gears to a new level; an arena of
outright competition where we are more in our element and are more than equipped
to win. NEXT - PREVIOUS - MORE NEWS - CONTACT US |
