Changing the business of modeling

Original Independent Modeling site launched and established as Tampa Bay Independent Model on September 4, 2001. Branding synched with Independent Modeling domain name in 2003. Logo and slogan established in 2004. Independent Modeling site redesigned 7 times between 2001 and 2010, with most site work, updates, and publishing happening on Tampa Bay Modeling from 2005 to 2012; Tampa Bay Modeling serving as our test site, and proving ground, for new concepts and tools. Original Athena Class site used by Independent Modeling in 2007, and new Athena Class site designed in 2010. Independent Modeling returned to prime position, and full operational status, in the fall of 2012.

11/01/12 - Fixed update links and verified that code was free of corruption. Debugging. Working to remove links from going to directories, and to create new target pages for updated links. Adding links on old files in old directories to new files and directories.

10/31/12 - Fixed duplicate meta tag data on corrupted pages. Adjusted colors and code on old pages. Fixed links to this page from old pages. Tested links (site was, and still is, a mess. A lot of work needs to be done. Can't wait to start fresh with Independent Acting, Florida Models, and Florida Actors Athena Class sites - ED).

10/20/12 - Redirected "Tutorials" link to new main tutorial page. The Tutorials section is currently offline, but will be launched later in 2012.

10/20/12 - Writing content for supporting content on the new Independent Modeling site in an effort to bring it online. Attaching revised Athena Class site template to existing pages, as well as new pages. Although it will be online with initial operational capability, full operational capability of the site will not occur until 2013, as it will take months of work to add the new tools and technology to the site. Major features, such as the new modeling job board, will be online and operational at the onset. Independent Modeling is an old site, and the legacy files have to be maintained, which makes building and launching the site a logistical challenge, as well as slow, but the new Athena Class Independent Acting, Florida Models, Florida Actors, and Independent Talent (the actual name is classified at the time of this writing, as a domain name has not been procured) will start out fresh.

10/20/12 - Imported update details from modeling job board to 2010 timeline here on the web site update long, as the details are historically relevant, and the modeling job board is receiving the new update format and the final revised board format before being brought online. The 2012 modeling job board will be used as the prototype for the job boards in sister sites Tampa Bay Modeling, Florida Models, Florida Actors, Tampa Bay Acting, Tampa Bay Talent, Tampa Bay Dancer, Independent Acting, and two classified talent resource sites.

10/09/12 - Upgraded image and graphic set templates and formats to print-resolution of 300 DPI/PPI, from 72 DPI/PPI. Restored original files paths and directories. Writing support content.

10/03/12 - Added this site updates section. Adjusted templates. Formatting site content and finishing writing foundation content so that site can be uploaded to server. Added new publication and update threads are the bottom of each page, which links to this update log and also notes dates of revisions to the page; this was designed on 09/29/12 by Aurora PhotoArts and first used on Florida Models, which is now an Independent Modeling site.

09/14/12 - Adjusted watermarks, images, and graphics. Adjusted colors. Adjusted sublink menu array.

05/04/12 - Cleaned up site by removing most outgoing links.

12/10/11 - New Independent Modeling site, which was redesigned back on 10/10/10, and has been in mothballs since because more research and development was needed, ordered to be launched. Moving this update history from the bottom of each page to its own update page. Design from 10/10/10 is still state of the art, and other than second link group moved, and replaced by new horizontal ad bars, all design elements from 2010 retained. Social media support added to Independent Modeling, which will be infused into all aspects of site. Blog moved to blogger wordpress account. Cutting-edge, advanced tools to be used with new site, including the Risk Analysis System (RAS), Interactive Tutorials, modeling fiction, modeling videos, a 2012 risk / scam analysis database with a scenario based front-end, and new modeling pay vouchers for independent models, as well as other career tools. Independent Modeling site to be re commissioned and deployed this month.

12/10/10 - Updated support content for 2011 year. Still working on content. New site should be up in January 2011, supporting the launch of Advanced Model, which will also be around that time. 2011 will be the busiest year in our history.

10/23/10 - Working on site sections. Independent Modeling will not be launched with the new design, or updated, until all content is up. The new Athena design template overwrote the existing one, so the ability to add anything to the Independent Modeling site now is not possible without a lot of extra work. Therefore, while the new site is worked on, the old site, which is online now, will be dormant. The new site should be online next month. The existing thumbnails are static, and not mouseovers currently, because there are no sections to link them to. This will change, once the site support content is done.

10/10/10 - Redesigned Independent Modeling, overhauling the site, and in the process of redoing it using a brand new Athena Class site. This new Athena Class is completely different than the old Athena Class. Independent Acting and an upcoming Independent Talent web site will also use the new Athena Class site design, as well as many of the design elements used by Independent Modeling.
