10, 2005 - Profile Format Complete
We finally completed
the new format for the featured talent AND the featured production profiles.
Production profiles? As of last night, we expanded the format to include production
professionals, joining the featured actor, model, and talent profiles.
Our featured talent and production profiles will now support the Frontier
Society web site, too, as will TALON.
We've come up with some incredibly awesome additions, and many of them were
integrated in the last eight hours. We spent six hours with sketch pads finalizing
details and sorting out how this is all going to work and interface with TALON
and the rest of the sites. Some of us still have dropped jaws from the exciting
things and design solutions that we've come up with- easily some of the most
incredible work that we've done this entire year. Portfolio networking sites
may have thousands of cheesy profiles, but what we are about to launch will
make them look like they belong in the stone age. What we won't have in quantity
we will make up in quality and useful features, and once our membership based
PHP infused site additions go online sometime next year, we'll take them on
the numbers, too- as some of you already know, we are aiming to give leading
portfolio networking sites a run for their money in the near future.
This is going to be awesome, and the demand to get featured, especially with
the new promotion launching next week, will dominate site growth in the next
twelve weeks. Everyone is going to want to obtain a featured profile when
they see what we've come up with.
So, what WON'T we have? Well, we don't have our PHP enhancements, lots of
server space, and extreme bandwidth yet. There is a price to pay, in addition
to money, for these cool profiles. There are a few things that our featured
profiles won't have at first, but will once the PHP and server networks come
online in the future. Models and photographers will have very little space
to store pictures on our sites, and the profiles will have to link to their
online portfolios hosted elsewhere. Additionally, we won't have any networking
features like friend lists or profile comments like most are used to on popular
sites like Myspace. Featured members will not be able to edit their profiles
themselves, either, and we won't have any photo upload or deletion features;
you'll have to use good old-fashioned E-Mail and let us edit things for you,
which means that any changes can take a while. All the hosting, manic networking,
comments, message boards, and real-time editing will will come in the future
with the PHP upgrades.
Oh, there is another price to pay for having a featured profile. All profile
members will be required to link from their web sites or online portfolios
to either their featured profile or IndependentModeling.Com, and it's for
their own good; it helps them out more than it will us. Incidently, a listing
on TALON does not require a link-back to us, but we will ask for it as a professional
courtesy as it will help your online marketing efforts by doing this.
So, now we know that the featured profiles will have some awesome features,
but without any of the normal conveniences found on a portfolio networking
site. What is the point of having a featured profile?
We're glad that you asked.
First of all, we are a talent and production professional resource site, and
we haven't yet forged into the market of portfolio networking sites. This
isn't a portfolio networking site yet, and we are laying down the foundation
of resources that will balance the portfolio networking features that are
coming. In the future, with the resource part and the portfolio networking
site part combined, we will put all of these portfolio networking sites out
of business eventually. Until then, however, our resource sites will be used
for career marketing, and that's what featured profiles are all about.
The greatest advantage for now is the fact that you can finally stand out
from the crowd. We won't have thousands of featured profiles on this site,
even AFTER our portfolio networking site additions come online. There will
always be a market for featured profiles, and they will remain separate from
future portfolio networking features and PHP based member profiles (we will
explain in good time). Featured profiles will always stand out simply because
of reduced competition.
Simply put, the featured profiles will tie all of your Internet information
together in one neat package, and the format is simply outstanding. This is
going to be truly awesome! We've outdone ourselves, and you'll agree when
you can finally check them out for yourself. With a rumor here in the studio
that certain fees will be waived for an introductory period, and combined
with the fact that we have to hand-code all the featured profiles, we are
going to be incredibly busy going into the new year. We are forecasting upwards
of sixty featured profiles and up to two-hundred TALON database entries by
December 31, 2005; not impressive numbers compared to portfolio networking
sites, but when you consider what the profiles will have to offer, it'll blow
them away. Quality before quantity. Next year, we'll be able to extend that
quality to quantity, and then it'll be game-over for most portfolio networking
sites, as they will not be able to match our exclusive content or our advanced
portfolio networking features.
The first featured profiles, the first TALON entries, and the job boards are
scheduled to be online tomorrow morning. We can't wait to see your expression
when you check them out (Harmony- we're almost done!).

The
agency way is no longer the only way of having a professional career as
a model. There is no arguing against common-sense and proven business
practices. Modern professional models think for themselves, network, and
book work both as independent models and by using agencies as one of many
sources of jobs. This is the future of the modeling industry.
