TALON, short for TALent ONline, is the talent, production professional, and business database for Independent Modeling, Independent Acting, Independent Performer, and Frontier Society. It is a large directory of professional contacts with a reference rating system added.
By default, this means that the TALON Talent Online Reference Database fulfills the original idea that Independent Modeling had back in 2002 for an online booker database leg of a new model job board. That prototype, which was never completely implemented, was called TRIDENT. TRIDENT saw limited use, with the job board component and the model career tool section seeing minor success, but the booker database was never made and due to the fact that the Independent Modeling Site was always in redesign limbo nothing ever reached its planned potential. The plan and the general idea behind the booker database would be to give models professional contacts much like an agency booker would have so they could contact the companies, submit their composite cards and information, land go see's, and book work on their own without a modeling agency involved. In those days, it would have been interesting to see this concept realized, and we bet that modeling agencies would have absolutely loved it. What's even more intriguing is that with the advent of TALON realizing that early concept, we can stop guessing at what could have been and will finally get to see first-hand how those model and talent agencies will react to it. We cannot wait!
With the experimental days behind us and Independent Modeling, Independent Acting, and Independent Performer now coded to a standard format designed to last for years and to be easily expanded as needs change, forever being limited and held back in redesign limbo will now change. We can now focus on working on new tools and content instead of hanging on the drawing boards. The booker database which would have been a part of TRIDENT was combined with elements of Independent Modeling's Professional Model Bureau (PMB) and refined by Independent Performer to become a massive online reference database now known as TALON. We now have the foundation to reach our potential and exceed what we have done very, very soon.
