Q. How does your TALON rating system work?
A.
The rating system rates profiles from one to five stars, and is completely
relative to the number of qualified references that we have on file about
you. Having no stars is not a bad thing, it just means that we have no references
on file for you. You can raise your rating by getting people to send references
in. Also, if those professionals submitting references are not in the database,
we will add them to it as a courtesy. If they are in the database and have
a high TALON rating, their opinion about you has more credibility and it will
have more of an impact on your rating. It's better to get one good reference
from someone holding a five star rating than it is to get thirty references
from professionals that are not in the database or have no rating. Complaints,
likewise, will lower your rating. You don't want someone with a five star
rating complaining about you. You know the saying- You have to consider the
source whenever you weigh in the credibility of any opinion.
Another sure-fire way to lose your rating level is to act unprofessionally
where we can observe it. We reserve the right to adjust your rating as we
see fit, but we won't do it unless we have a really good reason to do so.
For example, there is this dinner theater actress who took it upon herself
to attack a professional production company on an acting message board. We
have her uncalled-for comments on file, and it will take a lot of excellent
references before her TALON rating goes anywhere, that's for sure. If you
act unprofessionally, the system won't like you too much. The real professionals
remember, and your behavior will come back to bite you. We like that about
the TALON rating system, too. At long last, professionals will be accountable
for what they do.
