Q. What is the difference between a site credit and advertising?
A.
While this has less to do with TALON, we can answer this. We're glad that
you asked. Site credits are for contributed content such as pictures and content.
The credits are like free advertising in exchange for the contributed content,
and links directly to their TALON profile. Advertising, on the other hand,
is not only more visible, but is paid by the advertiser, which gives them
more control over what it links to. They have an advertiser profile, and it's
up to them whether they want it to directly link or reference their TALON
profile. That said, all advertisers have TALON profiles which can be checked,
so if they don't link to it or display their rating, it should make you curious
as to why and inspire you to click over to the TALON database to check.
The recap:
CREDITS are free and in exchange for contributions,
and link to TALON by default.
ADVERTISING is not free and links to TALON by choice.
Got it? Cool deal, then!
